1090. William Jones was born on 17 Jun 1829 in Pennsylvania. He appeared on the census in 1880 in North Belle Vernon, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He died on 21 Jun 1910. He was a farmer and banker in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.⁽²³¹¹⁾

He was married to Sarah Shepler (daughter of Joseph Shepler and Mary Blackburn) on 6 Feb 1850.⁽²³¹²⁾ One year after marriage (1830) he lived at home, then moved on one of his father's farms, which he carried on for eight years. In 1838 he moved on the farm where he still resides. In 1836 he located three hundred and sixty acres in Putnam County, Ohio, with the intention of moving there, but on account of the death of his father, was persuaded by his mother to remain in Rostraver [Township]. Sarah Shepler was born on 7 Jan 1830 in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.⁽²³¹³⁾ She appeared on the census in 1850 in home of parent. She appeared on the census in 1880 in home of spouse. William Jones and Sarah Shepler had the following children:
