He appeared on the census in 1850 in home of son. He was living with Tapley Sheley. He died on 23 Sep 1863 in Greene County, Ohio. He was buried in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Creek Township, Greene County, Ohio. ⁽³⁸⁾

He was married to Mary Hanby (daughter of --- Hanby and --- ---) on 1 Feb 1793 in Berkeley County, Virginia.⁽³⁹⁾ They were married by William Hill. Mary Hanby was born on 13 Jan 1777. ⁽⁴⁰⁾ She died on 10 May 1842 in Greene County, Ohio. ^(41)(42) Her death date is listed in the trasnscript of the bible as 10 Nov 1822 and 10 May 1842 per headstone listing. The age at death was 64y 9m 27d. From a birth date of 13 Jan 1777 and age, the date of death would calculate as 9 Nov 1841. She was buried in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Creek Township, Greene County, Ohio. ⁽⁴³⁾ William Sheley and Mary Hanby had the following children:
