137. James Kelly Sheley ⁽⁶⁷⁰⁾ was born on 17 Mar 1815 in Fayette County, Kentucky.⁽⁶⁷¹⁾ James Kelly Sheley Was the First Probate Judge of Jackson County, Missouri. He was an attorney by profession and resided in Independence, Missouri. He also resided when he first came to Jackson County from Calloway County, Missouri, in what was then called the "Pink Hill District".

He was married to Mary Ann E. Smart (daughter of William Smart and Ann Glover) on 8 Nov 1837 in Callaway County, Missouri. ⁽⁶⁷²⁾ Mary Ann E. Smart died in Mar 1872 in Missouri.⁽⁶⁷³⁾ James Kelly Sheley and Mary Ann E. Smart had the following children:
