He was married to --- Scott (daughter of John Scott and --- ---) about 1883.⁽²⁸⁴⁰⁾ --- Scott was born about 1867 in Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio.⁽²⁸⁴¹⁾ She died in Nov 1885 in Norwich, Union Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. ⁽²⁸⁴²⁾ She died of an accidental dose of Strychnine. There is a lengthy article in the Zanesville Courier on her death. She was buried in Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio.⁽²⁸⁴³⁾
