He was married to Frances Barnes on 8 Apr 1867. Frances Barnes was born about 1847 in Michigan. She appeared on the census in 1880 in home of spouse. Frances is probably not the mother of Edgar Roe. He was born before the marriage of Alexander and Frances. In the 1880 census, the birthplace of Edgar's parents does not appear to match the birthplaces of Alexander and Frances.
