The Exam, Prince Edward Island, Canada; "...in the 100th year of his age...was one of the Loyalists, and the last one left of those who settled in bedeque. He came to this Island in the year 1785. One of the most praiseworthy things that can be said of him is that he never tasted a drop of liquor during his lifetime; this, considering the time he came here, is a very rare thing. He was very hearty, and kept up to the last..He leaves a very large number of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren..."⁵
