Mrs. Moon, 71

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie Ellen MOON, 71, Owens Cross Roads will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. DST.  Burial will be in Moon’s Cemetery with the Revs. Harry MULLINS and Buren ROBERTS officiating.

 

Mrs. Moon died today at 12:30 a.m. DST at her residence, following a short illness.  She was a life-long member of the Owens Cross Roads Methodist Church.

 

Survivors include her husband, Art W. MOON; a son, Lt. Col. W. O. MOON, El Paso, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon DENNIS, Owens Cross Roads, Mrs. Harry HATFIELD, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mrs. A. O. PRICE, Nashville, Tenn.; four brothers, John TABOR, and Joe TABOR, Ben TABOR, all of Owens Cross Roads, and Howard TABOR, Pulaski, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. Fannie Mae RICE, New Hope, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

 

Active pallbearers will be Ray WHORTON, James BAKER, Harry HATFIELD, A. P. PRICE, Vernon DENNIS and Orville DENNIS.

Robert W. Moon

 

Robert W. MOON, 79, of 2015 Polk Drive, NE, died Sunday night at Huntsville Hospital following a long illness.

 

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Epworth Methodist Church, Rev. Robert MORGAN and Rev. James O. DARRIETY officiating.  Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Spry Funeral Home directing.

 

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mattie T. MOON; three daughters, Mrs. Catherine DENNIS and Mrs. Lola HATFIELD, both of Owens Cross Roads, and Mrs. Clara PRICE, Nashville, Tenn.; a son. Orville MOON, El Paso, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Cora MAPLES, Owens Cross Roads, Mrs. Gurtha TAYLOR, and Mrs. Nannie CONNALLY, both of Huntsville, and Mrs. Laura BROWN, Birmingham; two brothers, John MOON, Huntsville, and Allen MOON, Owens Cross Roads.

 

The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. It will be at Spry Funeral Home prior to that time.

 

Survivors include a sister, Annie TAYLOR of Detroit, and a half-brother, W. H. MOON of Birmingham.

 

Active pallbearers are Posie MAPLES, Wheeler MOON, Mutt MOON, Robert SUTTLES, Arnold RICHARDSON and Eugene C. CHELE.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be the men's Sunday school class of Epworth Methodist Church.
