Mrs. W. O. Carpenter Dies

 

Mr. W. O. CARPENTER died last night about 1 o’clock.  Mr. Carpenter is well known throughout the county and was well loved by all that knew him.  He was a good citizen and neighbor; a devoted Christian.  He will be missed by the people of his community.  He leaves behind him a wife, two brothers, and two children and many friends to mourn his loss.  We can sympathize with the bereaved and mourning ones and pray that God will abundantly bless and comfort these, our mourning friends in their dark and lonely hour.

W. O. Carpenter Dead After A Long Illness

 

W. O. CARPENTER, for many years a prominent merchant and planter of Madison County died Friday morning at 1 o’clock at his home in the Owens Cross Roads precinct.  He was 65 years old and is survived by his wife and two sons.

 

Mr. Carpenter has been the owner of the Woods Mill for years past and had a large circle of friends throughout the county.  He befriended hundreds of fishermen who went there from time to time and to all whoever went there to enjoy the sport, his death will be felt as a personal loss.  Mrs. Carpenter had been in failing health several years and for several days before his death his condition was regarded as extremely critical.  The funeral will be conducted at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon from the residence by Rev. E. C. ROY.
