Mrs. Ida Buford

 

A funeral for Mrs. Ida BUFORD, 83, who died this morning at the home of her daughter, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Cave Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy STONE and the Rev. John JEAMME officiating.  Burial will be in Moon Cemetery with Blythe Funeral Home in charge.  The body will be in the home of her daughter until one hour before the service.

 

Survivors include three sons, Marvin B. BUFORD, Harry W. BUFORD, Charles W. BUFORD, all of Huntsville; four daughters, Mrs. Mable CHANDLER, Mrs. Clara MOON, Mrs. Nevelyn POWERS, all of Owens Cross Roads, Mrs. Willie GLASS, Guntersville; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Charles Buford’s Rites Saturday

 

Funeral services for Charles W. BUFORD, 66, were held at 3 p.m. yesterday from the Cave Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. W. C. STEADMAN and the Rev. M. G. WILSON officiating.

 

Interment was in Moon Cemetery, directed by Butler Brothers funeral home of New Hope.  Mr. Buford died at 7 p.m. Friday at his home in Owens Cross Roads, following a long illness.

 

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida BUFORD; four daughters, Mrs. Allen MOON, Mrs. Fred CHANDLER, and Mrs. Emmett POWERS, all of Owens Cross Roads, and Mrs. Earl GLASS of Montgomery; three sons, Marvin BUFORD and Charles BUFORD, both of Huntsville, and Harry BUFORD of Owens Cross Roads, one brother, S. F. BUFORD of Huntsville; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

 

Mr. Buford was a farmer of the Owens Cross Roads community all his life.

 

Active pallbearers included Allen MOON, Fred CHANDLER, Emmett POWERS, Earl GLASS, Emmett MOORE and Braxton BRIGHTWELL.

 

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Will CUSHING, Mose CRAFT, Dr. James L. CARPENTER, Dr. Lloyd CUMMINGS, Dr. C. A. GROTE, Howard CLARK, John MOON, Ned COWAN, Robert BAKER, Fred GLOVER and Doc McKINNEY.
