Harriett K. Davis

 

Mrs. Harriett K. DAVIS, 97, of 163 Little Lones Road, died Monday at a local nursing home.  The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Gallilee Baptist Church with the Rev. Smith LEDBETTER and the Rev. Billy TAYLOR officiating.

 

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery with New Hope Funeral Home in charge.

 

Survivors include three sons, Robert E. DAVIS of Huntsville, Frank E. DAVIS Jr., of Good Springs and James D. DAVIS of Anniston; two daughters, Mrs. Mary B. BROWN of Maryland and Mrs. Mayme C. MAPLES of New Hope; 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

F. E. Davis Rites Set For Sunday

Funeral Services Will Be Held At 11 A.M. At Buggs Chapel

 

Franklin Earl DAVIS, 57, died at 11 o’clock yesterday morning in Tuscaloosa, after a lingering illness.  The body was brought last night to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leon MAPLES, Owens Cross Roads, Route 1, to await burial.

 

Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 11 o’clock from the Galilee Baptist Church at Buggs Chapel.  The Rev. Roy STONE will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Moon Cemetery, with Butler Brothers in charge.

 

Pallbearers will be Curt MAPLES, W. E. SELF, Harry CRAFT, Shelby RIGGINS, James WHITAKER and Roy SOLOMON.

 

Surviving are the widow; five sons, Arthur T.  DAVIS and Isaac F. DAVIS of Washington, D. C., Robert E. DAVIS, Owens Cross Roads, Frank DAVIS, Good Springs, Ala., and James C. DAVIS, Fort Benning, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. MAPLES and Mrs. Mary BROWN, Washington; two brothers, O. S. DAVIS and Cecil DAVIS, McEwing, Tenn.; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie ELLIOTT and Mrs. Lillie WALLS, also of McEwing.

 

Mr. Davis was a Baptist minister in Madison County for 18 years, before retiring several years ago.
