Clarence Power Of Berkley Dies

 

Funeral services were held today for Clarence POWERS, 74, who died early Sunday at the home of his son, Tommy POWERS, on Route 2, Gurley.

 

Mr. Powers was born in the County and was a farmer in the Berkley Community.  Funeral services were at 3 p.m. today from the Cave Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy STONE officiating.  Interment was in Moon Cemetery with Scottsboro Funeral Home in charge.

 

Surviving are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. John RIGNEY of Route 2, Gurley, Mrs. John T. WARREN of New Market, and Mrs. Elbert PARKER of Huntsville; three sons, Howard POWERS of the U. S. Navy, Eugene POWERS and Tommy POWERS of Route 2, Gurley; one sister, Mrs. Sue MANNING of New Market; and 13 grandchildren.

 

Active pallbearers were: Ewin SALDER, Willis MARTIN, James POWERS, J. B. BURLESON, Jess WHITAKER, Alton HOLLINGSWORTH.

 

Honorary pallbearers were: Dr. James L. CARPENTER, Dr. C. A. GROTE, A. I. WILLIAMS, Frank RODGERS, Harry CRAFT, Odie KING, George KEEL, J. N. CHANDLER, Odie WHITE, Millard SHANEYFELT, Clarence WOODY, Charlie BRAZELTON, Robert BOLTON, and O. D. MAPLES.
