Mrs. Lee Vann’s Rites Tomorrow

Died Wednesday Night At Owens Cross Roads Home After Illness

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Lee VANN, 76, will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. from the Galilee Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roy STONE and Mr. HARGRAVES officiating.  Burial will follow at Moon Cemetery.

 

A lifelong resident of Madison County, Mrs. Vann died at her home on Route 1, Owens Cross Roads yesterday at 7:30 p.m. following a brief illness.

 

The survivors include her husband, Lee VANN; two sons, Elbert R. VANN of Huntsville, and Renzo VANN of New Hope; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie MAYO of Flat Rock.

 

The active pallbearers all grandsons, will be Albert MAYO, Burley MAYO, Ellis MAYO, Tonnie MAYO, R. E. VANN Jr., Charles VANN and James E. VANN.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James CARPENTER, Thomas JENKINS, Elvey WHITE, Murphy GLOVER, Jimmy ELKINS and George BURKES.

Leroy J. Vann

 

Leroy J. VANN, 86, Owens Cross Roads, died Monday night after a short illness.

 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Buggs Chapel Baptist Church.  Revs. Roy STONE and Paul HOSSE officiating.  Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Spry Funeral Home directing.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bessie MAYO, Flatrock; two sons, Renza VANN and Albert R. VANN, Huntsville; three sisters, Mrs. R. D. VANN, Huntsville; Mrs. Allie MAYNARD, Moulton, Ala., Mrs. Myrtle ELLETT, Owens Cross Roads; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

 

Active pallbearers will be grandsons.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Lee CHANDLER, J. Sam SMITH, Clayton MARTIN, Elvie WHITE, Ollie BAKER, Roy KEEL, Wiley WILLIAMS, Robert THOMPSON and Ollie LYONS.

 

Mr. Vann was a native of Madison County, and lived most of his life in Owens Cross Roads and New Hope.  The body will remain at Spry Funeral Home until noon tomorrow.
