Chas. I. Spurlock Dies
From Attack
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday for
Charles Isaac SPURLOCK, 61, who died suddenly following a heart attack at his
home in Montgomery at 8 p.m. Monday.
The services will be conducted from the home of his
sister, Miss Nettie SPURLOCK, Route 4, on Pea Ridge. The Rev. Ewell SEXTON will officiate and interment will be in
Moon Cemetery at Owens Cross Roads, with Laughlin-Service Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his widow; five sons, Charles SPURLOCK
Jr. of Huntsville, Captain C. M. SPURLOCK, USMC, Birmingham, J. P. SPURLOCK of
Detroit, Mich., and Tim SPURLOCK and Tommy Joe SPURLOCK, both of Montgomery;
one daughter, Mrs. Thomas BAKER of Huntsville; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie
SPURLOCK, Mrs. Emma CLARK, both of Huntsville, Mrs. Levada CLEGHORN of
Cullman. He also leaves a number of
nieces and nephews and two grandsons, Donald BAKER of this city and Christopher
SPURLOCK Jr. of Birmingham.
Active pallbearers will be Cliff ESSLINGER, Louie KING,
Charley DAVIS, Luther OLDFIELD and Paul BAKER.
Honorary pallbearers will include, H. C. BLAKEMORE,
Charley DRAWHORN, Dio STEPHENSON, Will LANIER, Forrest CRUSE, George BEARD,
Silas BEARD and Joe DAY.
A native of Warren County, Tennessee, Mr. Spurlock moved
to Huntsville in his early manhood. He has resided in Montgomery the past several
years.
