ATHENS – Mrs. Mildred Estelle MAPLES, 66, of Route 1, Athens, died Thursday at her residence.  The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Noel WALKER and the Rev. O. J. JOHNSON officiating.

 

Burial was to be in Moon Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing.

 

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. P. E. MAPLES; five daughters, Betty WILSON of Union Grove, Brenda GARRARD of Arab, Deborah MAPLES of Chattanooga and Shelia THOMAS and Cynthia STEELE, both of Bridgeport; seven sons, James MAPLES of Athens, Billy MAPLES of Bayoula Batbe, Joe MAPLES of Boaz, Edward MAPLES of Arab, David MAPLES of Scottsboro, Terry MAPLES of Springfield, Va., and Mike MAPLES of Lake Jackson, Texas; three sisters, Eleanor BYROM, Johnnie BYROM and Pauline CHANDLER, all of Huntsville; two brothers, Frank KELLY and John “Bud” KELLY, both of New Hope; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
