James Brady Sims Sr.

 

James Brady SIMS Sr., 73, of 1505 Cave Springs Roads, Owens Cross Roads, died Friday at Huntsville Hospital.  The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Cave Springs Holiness Church with Paul STONE and Ollie COPPER officiating.

 

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery with New Hope funeral Home in charge.

 

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertie SIMS; five sons, Robert SIMS, Junior SIMS, Paul SIMS, Kenneth SIMS and Eugene SIMS, all of Owens Cross Roads; five daughters, Mrs. Ella Mae MULLICAN of Owens Cross Roads, Mrs. Lucille MEEKS of New Hope, Mrs. Martha BAILEY of Union Grove, Mrs. Shirley WATTS of Gurley and Mrs. Peggy COLLETT of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie BIRD and Mrs. Virginia CANTRELL, both of Huntsville; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

OWENS CROSS ROADS – Mrs. Bertie Lee SIMS, 79, of 1423 Cave Springs Roads died Sunday at her home.  The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Cave Spring Holiness Church with Paul STONE and Ollie COOPER officiating.

 

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery on Cave Spring Road with New Hope Funeral Home directing.

 

Mrs. Sims, a member of Cave Spring Holiness Church, was a homemaker.

 

Survivors include five daughters, Martha Elizabeth BAILEY and Frances Lucille MEEKS, both of New Hope, Peggy Sue COLLETT of Huntsville and Ella Mae MULLICAN and Shirley Ann WATTS, both of Gurley; five sons, Granville Eugene SIMS of Lacey’s Spring, Kenneth Wayne SIMS Jr., Paul Wayne SIMS and John Robert SIMS, all of Owens Cross Roads; two sisters, Sarah Ann BRUMLEY of Owens Cross Roads and Mary COOK of Scottsboro; three brothers, Frank DUNN and Mack DUNN, both of Owens Cross Roads, and Joe Wesley DUNN of Michigan; and 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
