OWENS CROSS ROADS – The Rev. Duke I. COWAN, 85, of 146 Duke Drives, Owens Cross Roads, died Tuesday at a Huntsville nursing home.  The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. David JONES and Phillip STORY officiating.

 

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery.  Rev. Duke was a native of Madison County and was retired from the City of Huntsville.  He was a minister in the Holiness Church for many years.

 

Survivors include two sons, James COWAN of Owens Cross Roads and Walter RODEN of Huntsville; two daughters, Mary Jo BYRD and Linda HOWELL, both of Owens Cross Roads; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be today from 3:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

OWENS CROSS ROADS – Mrs. Ella Jane COWAN, 88, of 146 Dukes Drive, Owens Cross Roads, died Wednesday at Whitesburg Manor Nursing Home.  The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. David JONES officiating.

 

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery.  Mrs. Cowan, a native of Lawrence County, was a member of Huntsville Holiness Church.

 

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Duke I. COWAN; two sons, Walter C. RODEN of Huntsville and James E. COWAN of Owens Cross Roads; two daughters, Mary Jo BYRD and Linda HOWELL, both of Owens Cross Roads; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be today from 3:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
