OWENS CROSS ROADS – The Rev. Roy STONE, 84, of Brockway Road, Owens Cross Roads, died Sunday at Big Spring Manor Nursing Home.  The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church with the Rev. G. D. BARRETT and the Rev. Billy TAYLOR officiating.

 

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery with New Hope Funeral Home in charge.  Mr. Stone was pastor at the Galilee Baptist Church for 35 years.  He also was pastor at several churches in North Alabama and Tennessee.

 

Survivors include a son, Billy STONE of Owens Cross Roads; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia BELK of Owens Cross Roads; a brother, the Rev. Paul STONE of Owens Cross Roads; and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hattie Stone

 

Mrs. Hattie Craft STONE, 72, of Owens Cross Roads, died Monday at a local hospital.  A funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church, the Rev. Roland LEE and the Rev. Norman MITCHELL officiating.

 

Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Spry Funeral Home in charge.  Mrs. Stone was a lifelong residence of Madison County and a member of the Galilee Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Roy STONE; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia BELK of Knoxville, Tenn.; a son, W. E. STONE of Owens Cross Roads; two brothers, Lonnie CRAFT and Gardner CRAFT, both of Owens Cross Roads; four sisters, Mrs. Flossie CASTLE of Grant, Mrs. Gracie DILWORTH of New Hope, Mrs. Annie VANN and Mrs. Katie SELF, both of Owens Cross Roads, three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers will be Lonnie STONE, W. D. STONE, Nelson STONE, Larry BELK, Pryor CHESNEY, and James VANN.
