Buford E. Byrd

Buford E. Byrd, 74, of Owens Cross Roads, died Monday at Huntsville Hospital.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Big Cove Holiness Church, with the Rev. Mitchell Drake and the Rev. Paul Stone officiating. Burial will be in Neals Chapel at Owens Cross Roads, Spry Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Christine Byrd; two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Gentles of Huntsville and Mrs. Jimmy Snead of Redstone Arsenal; five sons, Earl Byrd, Harvey Byrd, Charlie Byrd, Artis Byrd and Buford Ray Byrd, all of Owens Cross Roads; a brother, Joe Byrd of Huntsville, 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Naler, Rodney McClemore, E.C. Walls, Shelby Drake, Wilburn Lane and Richard Burke.

The body will be at the residence of the son, Artis Byrd of Owens Cross Roads until time of service.
