Mildred E. Dearmond


NEW HOPE - Mildred Estelle DEARMOND, 70, died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary PASEUR, Neal FOSSETT and David JONES officiating.

Mr. Byrd was a lifelong resident of Madison County. He retired from the City of Huntsville Parks and Recreation Department with 19 years of service. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery in Owens Cross Roads.

Survivors include her husband, Kernie DEARMOND; three daughters, Jo Ann EDDY of Huntsville, Linda GOWAN of New Hope and Brenda JACKSON of Lacey's Spring; five sons, Kenith WOOD and Eliga ATCHLEY, both of Athens, Jessie ATCHLEY of Owens Cross Roads, Ricky ATCHLEY of New York and Timmy ATCHLEY of New Hope; three stepsons, James Kernie DEARMOND of Guntersville, Jeff DEARMOND of Owens Cross Roads and Kevin DEARMOND of New Hope; four sisters, Burnice DEWART and Jean MOON, both of New Hope, Ruth LANE of Huntsville and Gertrude WALKER of Brownsboro; three brothers, Bud Paul MAPLES of Huntsville, Charles MAPLES of Brownsboro and David MAPLES of Tennessee; and 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was to be today from noon to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
