OWENS CROSS ROADS - Bobby Earl HOLLAND, 54, died Saturday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Big Cove Holiness Church with Bro. Oakley DRAKE, Bro. Joe VENTRESS and Bro. Dennis MCANALLY officiating. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Holland was a Vietnam War Army veteran and lifelong resident of Madison County. He was 1999 state champion of the Alabama Horseshoe Pitching Association, was inducted into the AHPA Hall of Fame this year and was the organization's current president. He placed second in the World Horseshoe Pitching Championship in 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Gail HOLLAND; two sons, Deimer Elige HOLLAND and Sean Patrick HOLLAND, both of New Hope; one daughter, April Nicole HOLLAND of Owens Cross Roads; four brothers, James Daniel HOLLAND, Carlos HOLLAND, Butch HOLLAND and Roy HOLLAND, all of Owens Cross Roads; two sisters, Dayphine VENTRESS of Owens Cross Roads and Mary Gail FORD of Woodville; and four grandchildren.

Visitation was to be today until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
