Arlon T. Owens


Arlon Therman OWENS, 71, of Huntsville, died Thursday at his residence. Mr. Owens retired from Humana Hospital. He was a former police chief for the town of Owens Cross Roads and a former officer for the City of New Hope. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by one son, Gregory; one granddaughter, Hailey FRYE; two brothers, Jerry OWENS and Lynn OWENS and his parents, Archie and Thelma (Bunch) OWENS. He is survived by his wife, Jo OWENS; one daughter, Cheryl McGehee of Owens Cross Roads; one son, Roger OWENS of Huntsville; one sister, Wanda MASON of Big Cove; two brothers, Kenneth OWENS of Huntsville and Bobby OWENS of Union Grove; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by New Hope Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral service will be at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday with Dr. Charles FREEMAN officiating. Interment will be at Neals Chapel Cemetery in Owens Cross Roads with military honors.
