GURLEY - Richard L. OWENS, 82, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Holy Temple Church with Bro. Edward PAYNE officiating. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery with New Hope Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Owens was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline OWENS; one son, Ray OWENS; and one daughter, Glenda OWENS.

Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy BAKER of Indiana, Myrtle DENNING of Huntsville, Susan LIPSCOMB and Betty MAYO, both of New Hope, and Debbie TERRY of Big Cove; one son, Hunley OWENS of Colorado; and 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
