5/6/95 pg 200 of Staten Island and Its People lists Noah Selleck Decker as having been born in the old family homestead. He served in the Civil War as an Infantryman in the New York Regiment. He was with Grant at Appomattox Court House when Lee surrendered.
He is buried in the Merrell family cemetery where a marble war commemorative stone marks his grave.
