He was Lord of the manors of Throckmorton, Black Nauton, Hill and More, Coughton, Spernore and Weston; knight of the shire, commissioned for the defense of the kingdom, appointed steward of all
castles, manors, etc., controlled by the Bishop of Worcester; High Sheriff for the counties of Warwick & Leicester, 1466, under the reign of Henry IV.
He married the heiress of Robert Olney, Margaret, and thus brought in to the Throckmorton inheritance the charming village of Weston Underwood in Buckinghamshire, where the poet Cowper became
