David Hamrick was born in January of 1796 in Greenbrier County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Miller, daughter of John and Eve (Burns) Miller, around the year 1820 in Nicholas County.
David built his home in the Upper Elk area near Whittaker Falls in 1820, the same year of his marriage to Elizabeth Miller. He was a pioneer in that area. David's home was a large log structure wih a big, open fireplace and chimney at one end.
David and Elizabeth had 16 children
David died on 10-25-1875 in Webster County, West Virginia
