Co., TX near Ft. Worth. Place of birth is unclear. Affadavits for pension
were signed by Joseph Jarrell, who stated he was her brother, and George F.
Jarrell, who attested to knowing Thomas Adams though he made no mention of
kinship. Shirley Mendelson is pursuing this line.
Joseph Jarrell's pension papers have same signature as Catherine's affadavit;
proves Catherine the d/o William F. probably by his first wife.
Lived at Falls, 12 Pole, Wayne Co., WV, Grant Twp. No children located for John and Dicy Fry. 1870 Census shows Mary Stephensen, age 20, living with John and Dicy Jarrell.
Date extrapolated from Death date and age being at time of death: 41 yrs,
3 mos. 11 days.Died from a fever.

Joseph died prior to 1920. Mary shown living alone in 1920 in Hudspeth Co.,
TX Census. Joseph's Death Cert. not available but affadavit of death in

James William and son John bought land in Adams Co., OH in 1909 from Oscar
Holt. William sold his share to John in 1910.or 1838,

appears to show him married three times. Nephew James B. Jarrell listed in 1910 Census with this family, age 25.
Civil War Pension papers give birth date as 15 Nov 1840 in Cabell Co., WV;
1900 Census gave birth as Nov, 1843. George was wounded at the battle of
Winchester during the Civil War. 1850 & 1860 Census, Wayne Co., WV, ages 10
and 19; 1870 - Lawrence Co., OH - age 25; 1880 & 1900 - Meigs & Jefferson Twp.
Adams Co., OH - ages 35 and 56; 1910 - Union Twp., Wayne Co, WV - Widower, age
69; 1920 - Wamsleyville, Adams Co., OH - age 65 (probably error should be 75).
At marriage in 1865 gave age as 22.
Info per Melcina Thompson, dau. of Dora Jarrells Hutchinson, 1993. Ltr in
file. Add'l info from Howard Jarrell. 1900 Census lists 6 children, 4
living: Martha, Rosa, Alice and Benjamin.
1910 Census shows George F. Jarrell, a widower, Melcenia's brother, living
with James McCallister and Melcenia.
Listed only in 1850 Census. Have never found information on Minerva and
suspect that she died young.
Nine children, five living in 1910.
