Aaron Hurff

Aaron Hurff obtained his education in the common, schools, but
his privileges in that direction were very limited, as he was
enabled to pursue his studies for only a few days, during the
year, or "when it was too stormy to work on the farm."' After
the death of his father he purchased the 'Homestead' and carried
on agricultural pursuits throughout his entire life, and was a
successful farmer of the community. He owned five farms and was
one of the heaviest stockholders in the Swedesboro Bank. He was
active in politics and was a strong Republican. He made a will
dated March 30, 1896 at Swedesboro, N. J. To his son Amos G.
Hurff he left the farm known as "old homestead of 95 acres." To
Freeman Hurff he left the 'Deborah White farm of 80 acres.' and
to Sarah G. Hurff the farm he bought of his brother -Henry known
as the old Shoemaker place." It was probated 7-29. 1901. (Will
