Henry (Piatt)

<mailto:[email protected]>
My husband's ancestry includes the above named Pyatts. The sketchy information we have is as follows: The first known of this surname was Henry PYATT, of Yorkshire, England, who left a will there in 1713, naming his wife Mary and "little son John Pyat". Wife Mary was the oldest survivng daughter of Robert INMAN of Beverley, Yorkshire, England. Either that "little son John", or a grandson (of Henry), was also named JOHN PYATT, who in 1773 was called of South Carolina (the Santee River area) in America. And one of the two John Pyatt's herein above named, married Joanna HORNER of Ripon, Yorkshire, England, who was born there 27 December 1716 & died in her 43rd year on 23 February 1759 in said area of South Carolina. (Joanna Horner was the third-born daughter & fourth child of John HORNER & his wife Katherine INMAN. Said Katherine was the second surviving daughter of the above named Robert INMAN.) Either a daughter or granddaughter of John PYATT & his wife Joanna (Horner) is said to have married a Mr. ALSTON of South Carolina. (I would presume that marriage to have taken place in the late 1700's or early 1800's.) From here on forward we have no further information. We were very much like to learn of any descendants in this family! My husband is a descendant of John HORNER & wife Katherine INMAN through their fifth child Robert HORNER, born in 1718/19 at Ripon, England & who settled in Charles County, Maryland in the 1740's.
Thank you for any help. Sincerely, Mrs. Warren M. Horner of Minneapolis, MN
