Descendant of Major Daniel Piatt. [p.22] Daughter of William Piatt (1811-1900) and Mary Louise Hoblitzell, his 2nd wife. Granddaughter of Robert Piatt (1759-1857) and Nancy Jones, his 1st wife. Gr-granddaughter of Daniel Piatt and Catherine Sherrad, his wife. Daniel Piatt (1745-80) in 1776 commanded the 7th company, 1st battalion, New Jersey Line, and, 1778, promoted major, serving in the 1st regiment. Died in camp near Morristown, N.J.
