Note on Husband: Alexio + JULIUS

Gaius Julius Alexio was a King of Emesa of Mauretanian descent succeeded his father, King Sohaemus (also known as Gaius Julius Sohaemus), as King of Emesa. Little is known about this individual. He is, however, a direct descendant of Cleopatra VII and Mark Antony. His mother was Drusilla of Mauretania.

Alexio married Claudia, a daughter of then Roman Emperor Claudius. There is little record of this marriage, and seems improbable since Claudia Antonia was executed by Nero, and younger sister Claudia Octavia was banished and ordered to be killed. They had one child; Mammaea who later married King of Palmyra Malchus.
