Robert de Tregoz, son and heir of Robert de Tregoz.

In Oct 1261, he was among the trusted tenants whom the King, faced with the opposition of Simon de Montfort, called to London. He afterwards was slain in the battle of Evesham. His son John de Tregoz had summons to parliament in 25th year of Edward I, and died leaving two daughter and coheirs. Clarice, married Roger de la Warre and Sybil, married William Grandison.

He confirmed the foundation of a great house of regular canons at Albury, in Send, Surrey, and was patron of the priory on the isle of Steepholm, in Britol Channel.

Robert married, sometime before 1 Aug 1245, Juliane, the daughter of William de Cantelo, by Milicent, widow of Amauri (de Montfort), Count of Evreux, and daughter of Hugh de Gornai (Gurnay).

Juliane was still alive on 6 Aug 1285.

Robert II de Tregoz, Baron of Ewyas Harold joined the baronial banner in the reign of Henry III.2 .

 

He held barony of Ewyas Harold at Herefordshire, England.3 .

 

He was born circa 1194, the son of Robert I de Tregoz, Sheriff of Wiltshire and Sibyl de Ewias.2 Robert II de Tregoz, Baron of Ewyas Harold married Julia de Cantilupe, daughter of William de Cantilupe and Millicent de Gournay.4,2,5 .

 

Arms: Gules, two bars gemel or, in chief a lion passant of the last.6 .

 

He had a military summons to march against the Welsh in 1257/58 at 42nd year of Henry III reign.2 .

 

2nd Baron's War - The Crown defeats Simon de Montfort's, Earl of Leicester's, forces, killing and beheading him on 4 August 1265 at the Battle of Evesham, Worcestershire, England.7 .

 

Robert II had taken the side of the rebel barons under Simon deMontfort, he died on 4 August 1265 at the Battle of Evesham, Hereford and Worcestershire, England. 2 .
