Abraham served in both the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. He attained the rank of full colonel in the latter. He was a selectman of North Hampton (New Hampshire). He was a member of the Provincial Congress, held at Exeter (New Hampshire) in 1777, and a delegate from North Hampton (New Hampshire) to the second Constitutional Convention, held in Concord in June 1781.113
