Sir Geoffrey Boleyn (1406–1463) was a London merchant and Lord Mayor.
Geoffrey Boleyn, the son of Sir Thomas Boleyn and Anne Bracton,[citation needed] was a wealthy London mercer. He served as alderman of the City of London in 1452, and Lord Mayor in 1457/8,[1] and was knighted by King Henry VI.[2] He purchased the manor of Blickling in Norfolk from Sir John Fastolf in 1452, and Hever Castle in Kent in 1462.[3]
[edit] Marriage and issueSir Geoffrey Boleyn married Anne Hoo, the only child of Sir Thomas Hoo (d. 13 February 1455) by his first wife Elizabeth Wychingham, and along with her half-sisters, coheiress of her father.[4] Sir Geoffrey Boleyn and Anne Hoo had two sons, Sir Thomas Boleyn (d. 1471/2) and Sir William Boleyn (d.1505), mercer, who married Margaret, daughter and co-heiress of Thomas Butler, 7th Earl of Ormond.[5]
Sir Geoffrey Boleyn died in 1471.[6] He and his wife Anne were the great-grandparents of Queen Anne Boleyn.
