Photo of my grandfather Ira Mecham and his "cousin" Warren Blackheart. We think it was likely taken in the 1930s. Ira is the taller one on the left. Ira's father was Samuel Chapman Mecham born in New Hampshire. Samuel was married at least twice, first to Elizabeth Ball. They had many children in the early to mid 1800s. He then married Mary Elizabeth Collins. They had Eli, Era, Ira, Eva and a set of twins named Augusta and Augustus, during the 1860s and 1870s. Ira was born in 1865. James may be a son from Samuel's first marriage or even a grandson. Photo contributed by Larry Young.
