Family Information:
The first Emmerich family to emigrate from Germany to Brazil was of Jonas Emmerich (from Hessen). They came in the ship "Argus" (Den Helder port 24Jun1823), arrived in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) in 13Jan1824.
The second Emmerich family to emigrate from Germany to Brazil was Heinrich Emmerich (from Hessen - Nidda). They came in the ship "Caroline", arrived in 1824. These families lived in the state of Rio de Janeiro (Nova Friburgo) and the state of Minas Gerais (Alto Jequitib�). -- from Renato Dutra Emmerich
