Crich 'Strays'

In his "Oxford Companion to Local and Family History" - {published by Oxford University Press}- the author, David Hey, defines a 'stray' as "a term used by family historians for events that are recorded in unexpected places, e.g. a burial register might name the usual place of residence of a man who has died far from home".
