Old Crich Vicarage

A picture of what is believed to be the old Crich Vicarage. Changes and additions have of course been made over the years. Situated about 100 yards from the Parish Church (St. Mary's), it is also thought to be have been constructed on ground adjacent to the old 12th century Manor House of Hubert Fitzralph, later occupied by Ralph de Frecheville. In the latter part of the 16th century another Manor House was built on or near the same site by the influential John Claye.
