A New Written and Pictorial History Of "WILLIAM THOMAS BROWN" and Descendents.
Oh Yes, my Elusive Grandfather. It took some time to track him, but we succeeded. He had three families and seven children total. Was a Photographer and had assisted A. J. Riddle of Macon, Ga. take those infamous photos of Andersonville Prison in Ga. on Aug. 16, 1864 during the Civil War.
The BROWN-KEEN Connections In Central Georgia. My Grandmother Rebecca Brown was the daughter of Jacob M. Brown and Mary Jane (Keen) Brown, daughter of John and Sarah (Scarborough) Keen. Rebecca's maiden name was Brown, but not blood related to my Grandfather.
The KEEN-HARRELL-BROWN Connections In Central Georgia. The Keen Harrell Branch began when Elizabeth Keen married Asa Harrell Sr. December 12, 1815. Elizabeth being the daughter of John Keen Sr. and Elizabeth Curlee of Sampson Co. NC.Young Keen Sr. and his descendents, brother of Elizabeth is also included in this list. The Brown-Keen Branch began when Mary Jane Keen, daughter of John Keen married Jacob Moore Brown on May 5, 1855.
Wm JACKSON LEE Jr, GREEN BERRY LEE, Sons of Wm JACKSON LEE Sr. Wm Jackson Jr. was Green Berry Lee's brother who was the father of William Andrew Lee, who was my Grandfather on Mother's side. Wm J. was a stone cutter at Stone Mt. Georgia, before and after the Civil War, During the war he was a Private, of Co. D, First Confederate Regiment and later Company H, (Magruder Dragoons) 2n Georgia Cavalry.
Corporal GREEN BERRY LEE Co. K. 36th Reg., GA. Inf. CSA (Roster) Being My GGFather On My Mother's Side, Father of Wm Andrew Lee, Uncle of Melcenia (Peters) Lee, little else is known about Green. After U. S. Grants forces captured the Confederate's at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4, 1863. The Confederates swore an oath to the United States and all were paroled. Most went on to rejoin Confederate units. Green left for his home in Ga. but was never heard from again.

Chronology of JESSE PETERS Jr. "War of 1812" and "Creek Indian Wars" JESSE PETERS Jr. Being My GGrandFather On Mother's Side, Jesse Peters Jr. was born June 9, 1791 to Jesse Sr and Martha (maiden name unknown.) In Wilkes Co., Ga. He was involved in the Battle of CALABEE with Creek Indians on Jan. 27, 1814 which was a decisive victory for the Creek Indians.

CSA Rosters, Where Our Ancestors And Friends Served My Families were living In Gwinnett, DeKalb, Pulaski, Bibb and Dooly Counties in Ga. when the Civil War broke-out. Several Cross family members of Dooly Co were sent to Andersonville Prison as guards the summer of 1864 near the time A J Riddle and my Grandfather Wm T Brown (of Bibb Co) took the infamous photos of the prison.
