PERAMETERS:
James V. Elliott set the markers with the lowest mutation rates to the following values:  DYS 393=12, DYS392=13, DYS19/394=14, & DYS389i=13.
He let the markers with the highest mutation rates, DYS 389ii, DYS385a and DYS385b - be totally wildcard.  
He allowed DYS391 to vary between 12 and 11 (11 getting by far the lion's share of the hits), and DYS390 to vary among 23, 24 and 25.
He placed the asterisks next to figures for samples of 300 and above, as these might be statistically more accurate than those for smaller samples.
