Introduction
Thank you for visiting this site. I hope you will find information here that will be beneficial to your family research. My name is Don Drake and I am descended from Benjamin Drake of Carter County, Tennessee through his son Abraham. I am also descended from George Robinson, a blacksmith, from New Garden, Russell County, Virginia. You may reach me using the contact form.
This site is best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. Other resolutions will work but you will have to scroll to the right and left to view some of the image and menu screens.
I have included scanned images of many of my source documents. These include census reports, marriage licenses, death certificates, military service records, pension applications and much more. NOTE: Many of these images open in separate windows. To close these windows and return to your previous page, simply "click" the small "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the image's screen.
Feel free to download any of the images you need, that's why they are here. If something is copyrighted, I have tried to include the source. If I have neglected to give the proper credit for anything on this site, please let me know.
Please check out the section titled "Things I Would Like to Know." I have many questions and hope that someone might have the answers.
I have also included a section with some of my favorite links. If any of them are broken . . . let me know.
On page 2 of this introduction, you will find short biographical sketches, including surnames researched, of Durell Drake and Mabel Robinson to whom this site is dedicated.
