Researching Reginald Thomas Dykes & Edith Parker

Edith Parker was born in 1906 according to her marriage certificate (from her marriage to Reginald Thomas Dykes). While records have yet to be obtained, it is likely that Edith was born in the first quarter of 1906, in Warrington, Lancashire, England.

It should be noted that her marriage certificate notes her marrying Reginald Thomas Dykes, who was actually born Thomas Reginald Dykes but lived his life as Reginald and not Thomas.

From her marriage certificate we know the name of her father, Charles Parker. His occupation is that of a farmer, and it is also noted that by 1926 he had passed on.

At the time of her marriage Edith was living in Latchford Warrington, at;

65 Thelwall Lane
Latchford
Warrington, Lancashire

Edith married Reginald on 5 June 1926 at the Parish Church, Christ Church, Latchford. Latchford is noted as being in the County of Chester on the marriage certificate and the registration district is noted as Warrington.

The marriage was solemnized in the presence of William Dykes, Reginald's brother, and Sarah Williams, of an unknown relation.

Two family sources indicate that Reginald and Edith had two sons, both born, presumably, between 1926 and 1940.

It is believed that after 1940 Reginald left Edith, though no divorce was ever formalised.

Reginald died in 1955, and Edith and their two sons are believed to have attended the funeral.
