Photo submitted by Sally Fisher Chenier
The Greater Washington Band, probably taken around 1900. David
Brown Fisher
is in center front with the biggest horn, a Sousaphone. He
is maternal
grandfather of Sally Fisher Chenier, who graciously submitted
the photo for the
viewing pleasure of those interested in Washington Pennsylvania
History and
Nostalgia. She reports that the horn was specially made for
him and is a double B
flat horn (left handed). This horn was also on display at
a music store in
Washington at one time and an article written about it appeared
in the Washington
Observer. She apologizes for cut off clarinet of the man at
the end of second row.
Does anyone know identity of any other band members????
Is so, please email us !
