Alanson R. Edgerton, son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Fargo) Edgerton.
Family
records state that Alanson R. Edgerton was born February 27, 1803 and died
April 30, 1813 (Edgerton Family Genealogy, Ida Ferry Welch, et. al. (comp.); Sept. 1964;
pg.12), however this conflicts with the inscription on Alanson’s gravestone, that
is “Alanson R. / son of / Danel & Betsey / Edgerton died Apr. / 30, 1803
aged / 8 years”. Ms. Welch states that
the gravestone inscription is thought to be an error. This would agree with the 1810
Federal Census enumeration of Daniel Edgerton’s houshold, which
indicates that Daniel had three sons under the age of ten still living. |
