The following obituary for Alfred Dixon Edgerton was published in The Plain Dealer (Cleveland, Ohio) on April 18, 2004:

“ALFRED DIXON EDGERTON, J.D., peacefully passed away at home in Malibu, CA., on April 13, 2004.  Born in 1913 in Brewster, NY., he spent most of the first 50 years of his life in Cleveland.  He received his undergraduate and law degrees from Western Reserve University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta.  An avid sailor, he particularly loved racing his R-series boat, the Robin, on Lake Erie, which is how he met his beloved wife.  In 1962 he moved his family to the Los Angeles area, where Al was a member of the California Yacht Club, and was noted for his photo-graphy.  He was devoted to his family, and he will be very much missed by them.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice; his children, Dixon (Laurie), Robert (Amy) and Ann; and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Daniel and Emily.  Memorial services will be held April 22 at 11 a.m. at Pierce Bros.  Westwood Village Mortuary in Los Angeles, CA.  His final resting place will be with his parents at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN.
