The 1850 Census Mortality Schedule for Wells Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, lists “Amanda Ratan, aged 21, married, born in Penn., died October 1849 in child bed, 6 days ill. Amanda was buried nearby her parents, David and Lois Edgerton, at the Ames Hill Cemetery. Her only child, son David, was residing with his grandparents at the time of the 1850 Federal Census.
