According to the above census record, Geneva (“Jennie”) was the mother of three children, all of whom were still living.  Andrew’s occupation was listed as “farmer”; and the two children were  noted as “at school”.

 

At the time of this census, Andrew and Geneva’s eldest daughter, Blanche, was recorded in the household of Riley Laurence in Clarendon Township, Calhoun County, Michigan (pg. 96; dwelling #79; family #80; enum. June 16-18, 1900), where she was enumerated as “Blanche J. Edgeton, servant, b. December 1881 (sic), Indiana”.

 

Mrs. Geneva (Swain) Edgerton was residing with her eldest daughter, Blanche J. (Edgerton) Champney when the 1920 Federal Census was taken.  She was recorded in the household of Blanche’s husband, Bradford Champney, in Oberlin Village (Russia Township), Lorain County, Ohio (pg.  258; dwelling #32; family #36; enum. January 5, 1920), where she was enumerated as “Geneva A. Edgeton, mother-in-law, aged 57, divorced, b. in Indiana, father & mother b. in Indiana”.

 

Andrew Edgerton was enumerated in the 1930 Federal Census of Reading Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan in the household of George Heist (pg. 234; dwelling #185; family #185; enum. April 22, 1930).  He was enumerated as “Andrew Edison, hired-man, aged 75, divorced, b. Indiana, father b. Pennsylvania, mother b. New York.”
