The following obituary for Mrs. Fannie  (Godwin) Edgerton was published in the Terre Haute Tribune (pg. 2) on Wednesday, August 2, 1939:

 

“MRS. FANNY GODWIN EDGERTON

 

Mrs. Fanny Godwin Edgerton, 76 years old, died at 6:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at the residence, 1525 First avenue.  She is survived by the husband, August; two sons, Joseph, of Terre Haute, and William, of Galveston, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Dailey, also of Galveston; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Armacoat, of Rosedale, and Mrs. Emma Johnson, of Oklahoma City, Okla.;, and a brother, George Godwin, of Carson, Kan.; two grandsons, one granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.  The body was taken to the P. J. Ryan & Sons funeral home, where private services will be held at 10:30 o’clock Thursday morning.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home until time of the services.”

 

The following obituary for “August Edgerton” was published in the Terre Haute Tribune (pg. 2) on Monday, March 26, 1951:

 

“AUGUST EDGERTON

 

August Edgerton, 90 years old, died at the residence, 1525 First avenue, Monday at 5 a.m.  He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Dailey of Indianapolis; a son, Joseph of Terre Haute, and three grandchildren.  The body was taken to the P. J. Ryan & Sons Funeral Home, from where funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 7:30 o’clock with requiem mass as St. Ann’s Church at 8 p.m.  The rosary will be recited from the Ryan Chapel, Tuesday night at 8 p.m.”

 

A subsequent funeral and burial notice was published in the Terre Haute Tribune (pg. 6) on Tuesday, March 27, 1951.
