The Last Will and Testament of Isaac Locy Edgerton

  In the name of God Amen.

  I, Isaac L. Edgerton, of the Town of Greene, County of Chenango and State of New York, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, that is to say.

  First.  After the payment of all my just and lawful debts, funeral and burial expenses, I hereby give, bequeath and devise to my beloved wife Clara H. Edgerton the use of all my property of every name and nature, for and during the term of her natural life, or so much thereof as shall be necessary for her support and maintenance during that time, including clothing, food, medicine and medical attendance, and if the use or income of such property is not sufficient for such support and maintenance, I hereby authorize my Executor, hereinafter named, to pay to my said wife, from time to time such portions of the principal of my property as, together with said interest or income, will be sufficient for the support of my said wife during said term.  My said wife to accept and receive this bequest in lieu of dower, and all other rights, interest or share in my property to which she would be entitled by law by reason of her being my widow.

  Second.  At the decease of my said wife, I hereby give, bequeath and devise the balance of my property which shall then remain to my four children, Albert Edgerton, Adelbert C. Edgerton, Lena A. Edgerton and Lillian Edgerton, the same to be divided equally between them, each to share alike.

  Likewise, I hereby make, constitute and appoint my friend, Palmer A. Curtis, to be sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.

  In Witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 29th day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.

  The above and foregoing type-written instrument was subscribed by the said Isaac L. Edgerton in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us, and he at the same time declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last Will and Testament; and we, at his request, have signed our names as witnesses hereto, in his presence and in the presence of each other, and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.

  Whereas I, Isaac L. Edgerton, of the Town of Greene, N.Y., did heretofore, to wit, on the 29th day of August 1895, make and execute my last Will and Testament, in and by which I nominated and appointed Palmer A. Curtis to be sole Executor thereof.  Now therefore, I do, by this writing, which I hereby declare to be a Codicil to my said last Will and Testament, and to be taken as a part thereof, hereby revoke the nomination and appointment of said Curtis as executor of my said last Will and Testament, and hereby nominate and appoint my brother-in-law, William H. Daly, of the Town of Greene, N.Y., to be sole executor of my said last Will and Testament in the place and stead of said Palmer A. Curtis.

  And it is my desire that this codicil be annexed to and made a part of my said last Will and Testament as aforesaid.

  In Witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 17th day of November, 1896.

  The above type-written instrument, was subscribed by the said Isaac L. Edgerton in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us to be a codicil to his last Will and Testament dated August 29th, 1895, and he at the same time declared the above instrument, so subscribed to be a codicil to his last Will and Testament and to be a part thereof, and we, at his request, have signed our names as witnesses hereto, in his presence and in the presence of each other, and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.
