Edgerton and Chester Ford for membership in the Wisconsin Phalanx were presented, read and referred to the committee on applications.” Book I, Part Two, pg 72 – “At a special meeting of the Council held July 23 [1845]… The application of Jas. M. Edgerton was then called up and read and ayes and noes were taken on his admission as a member of the Phalanx. Ayes 9, noes none, so the applicant was admitted.” Book I, Part Two, pg 73 – “In Council August 4, 1845 6 o’clock P.M.… A bill of property was then received of J. M. Edgerton, amounting to 39 dollars and the amount ordered to be entered to his credit upon the stock books, bearing date with his admission as a member.” Book I, Part Three, pgs. 126-7 – “In Council June 1st, 1846… Resolved that the secretary be requested to purchase for W. Harriet (Kenyon) Edgerton died on September 16, 1890, presumably at Woodbine,
Iowa. She was buried beside her
husband at Woodbine Cemetery; her gravestone bears the following inscription: HARRIET Wife of James Edgerton Died Sept. 16, 1890 Aged 63 years, 8 mos. & 8 days. Original Source Documents: 1860
