Norman Edgerton, son of Uriah and Lydia (Fay) Edgerton.
Norman Edgerton was born at Bennington, Vermont on August 24, 1802, the eldest son and first child of Uriah and Lydia (Fay) Edgerton. He was raised in North Bennington and resided there most of his life. According to The Hyde Genealogy (Reuben H. Walworth, 1864, pg. 624), Norman Edgerton was still “unmarried in 1857”. Norman Edgerton was recorded in the 1860 Federal Census of Bennington, Bennington County, Vermont. He was residing in the household of his brother-in-law, Samuel Loomis (pg. 742; dwelling #775; family #810; enum. July 17, 1860) and was enumerated as: “Norman Edgerton, aged 55, born in Vermont”. Norman Edgerton died at
Troy, New York on July 4, 1869. His
death was noted in the 1870 Federal
Census Mortality Schedule of
“Persons who Died during the Year ending 1st June 1870” in Troy, Rensselaer County,
New York (pg. 571, line 4), with the following particulars:
